Holiday rental grows 10% in Portugal

The portuguese newspaper Diário Económico published on 6 July an article which confirms Portugal as a reference in the holiday rental market.
The portal Dotvilla.com, along with Homelidays and two important holiday promoters (Vale do Lobo and Grupo Oceânico) was one of the interlocutors of an interesting analysis of the residential tourism market.
Despite the period of crisis, the several companies agree in regard to the widespread growth of the holiday rental market, particularly in Portugal: “In relation to booking requests for holiday homes in Portugal, we noticed a growing demand” - Ana David, responsible for Dotvilla.com properties management.
Among the various testimonies, it is interesting to note some trends that characterize the Portuguese market. Traveling with the family remains an imperative, despite the growing concern over the price. Perhaps because of this, the apartments are the preferred choice, with the Algarve concentrating the attention regarding the supply.
